Overview
Five Nights at Freddy's (FNaF) is a series of puzzle horror games. You play the night-guard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and have to survive the night while in your office, checking the cameras and closing the doors, or make repairs, all while being hunted by killer robot animatronics. The games also have a quirky sense of humour, which can help reduce the suspense. While the premise may sound goofy, beneath the surface is an intriguing mystery involving kidnappings, murders and revenge. This narrative, combined with the unique point and click gameplay, has made the franchise the success it is, with many communities on the internet devoted to solving its intertwining and complex story that now also spans books and, soon, a film.

Age Ratings
Rated PEGI 12 for Horror. The game is designed to imbue feelings of constant threat and dread accompanied by frequent jump scares, this is all underpinned by a childish disembodied voice which provides audio input using phrases such as 'let's see how many pieces I can cut you into'. Eerie sound effects and footsteps can be heard making their way towards the player. The animatronic creatures which stalk you have disturbing designs meant to intimidate. These are made more pronounced by the darkness and dim lighting and their sudden appearance when the creatures lunge at the player. The characters primarily move locations when they are not being looked at and can only be tracked using the CCTV cameras. However, if the player starts to hallucinate, they will begin to see the animatronics walking through the map towards the them. If the player fails to stop the oncoming animatronics, then they will be caught by one of them. In this situation a loud jump scare where the creatures lunge at the player is triggered. The screen then cuts to black and the player is returned to the main menu.
Rated ESRB TEEN for Fantasy Violence. This is a puzzle/horror game in which players assume the role of a repair person tasked with monitoring/repairing animatronic characters at a pizzeria. From a first-person perspective, players explore dark hallways, complete puzzles, and try to avoid menacing, malfunctioning animatronic figures. The game contains frequent screams/shrieks and jump scares, with characters' heads rushing up the camera to attack players. Some text/dialogue add to the dark tone and horror elements (e.g., '...Please try to move away from populated areas before bleeding out...'; '...If you die, they hide your body and never tell anyone'; 'You will die.'). A handful of mini-games depict small, pixelated pools of blood.
